Living in the 3rd Ward, on Pomeroy Street, I have been attending Borough Council meetings for the past few years.  Over that time I have seen Council approve the billboard in Hetzel Park; keep the budget process as secretive as they could, while running deficit after deficit.  Given this history, I decided to run for Council myself, where I will serve the people of the Borough and help bring about some positive change.

Improving the downtown business district and the lake area, and not just around election time, will be two high priority areas.  Regarding the Borough’s finances, I hope to use my own accounting experience to watch expenses more closely and look for ways to save us residents valuable tax money.  I will work to keep taxes as low as possible while maintaining the rich traditions here in Ridley Park, from the 4th of July festivities to the Victorian Fair.

As a coach for my two boys (now young men) for many years in the Athletic Club, and then as treasurer of the club for four years, I know first hand the important role that the Athletic Club plays in making RP a great place to raise a family.  As a Councilor, I will certainly support the Athletic Club and the other recreational and cultural activities in the Borough, to help keep them the first class organizations that they currently are.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the candidates for Borough Council and Mayor.  I would certainly appreciate your vote, and for our team, on Tuesday, November 7.  Thank you.
