Hello- My name is Dan Broadhurst. I am a lifelong resident of Ridley Park, and I am running for re-election to Ridley Park's Borough Council.
As a kid, I grew up on Morton Avenue across from St. Madeline’s Parish, with my parents and 11 Brothers and Sisters. I am an alumnus of St. James High School (92) and received my degree in Business Management from East Stroudsburg University (96). It was at ESU that I met my wife Kara; we have been happily married for 16 years.
Not long after college, Kara and I spent several years in Northern New Jersey/Manhattan while Kara pursued her graduate degree in Theatre at the New School for Social Research. The city life became old after several years, so we decided to move back closer to friends and family. My affection for Ridley Park and its proximity to Philadelphia made it an easy choice to move home. We live on Park St in a home I had built in the back yard of my childhood home. Yes, I know, like many Borough residents, I did not move very far!
Professionally, I have worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for the past 20 years in Pennsylvania and Delaware. My wife Kara works as a Drama Teacher and Employability coach at a small school on the Mainline. Our children Luke (13) and Lily (8) attend the Ridley Middle School and Lakeview Elementary.
Ridley Park will always be home, that is why I am seeking a second term on Borough Council. It is clear to me based on my experience on Council that now is the time for real bipartisan leadership. This Council is made up of 7 members elected to make informed decisions on behalf of the residents. It should not be run by any one party, or 1-2 individuals that make collective decisions for our town.
We feel our bipartisan team has the experience and vision to help our town thrive.
I appreciate you taking the time and I ask for your support on November 7th.
Parkers Before Party!
