Hello – my name is Dane Collins and I am a lifelong resident of Ridley Park and I will be running for Borough Council in the fall of 2017.
I grew up living by the lake on Glenloch Road with my Mom and Dad. After attending the Haverford School during my high school years I was fortunate enough to receive an education at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) while playing college lacrosse. It was at Umass that I met my wife Kerri who was a member of the women’s lacrosse team.
Not too long after I moved home from college, Kerri moved to the area and she began working at the Boeing plant. Soon after Kerri and I got married and we purchased a home on Pomeroy street, where we currently live with our three-year-old daughter Annabel and our son Louie.
Professionally, I have worked in the financial services industry for the last 9 years focusing on legal and compliance issues. While working I was able to earn my Jurist Doctorate from Widener University’s Delaware School of Law, as a night student. I am also a licensed attorney in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and work in the compliance department at a great wealth management firm in Radnor, The Haverford Trust Company.
The borough of Ridley Park has always been and hopefully always will be my family’s home. That is why I have made the commitment as a registered Republican to campaign alongside both Democrats and Republicans in the upcoming fall election. The past three years of budget deficit spending, lack of consistency with our borough manager and stagnation of our business district is upsetting. It is my hope that if elected a bipartisan group of likeminded residents can begin to fix some of the obvious issues facing Ridley Park.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. I look forward to your support in the upcoming year.
